DIY Wire Shape Bracelets

A little DIY jewellery post for you today, inspired by the ever so wonderful 'Henry Happened'.

These little bracelets are so cute and dainty and incredibly easy to make. I've never really been one for statement jewellery and instead I tend to opt for simplistic pieces that I can wear every day. So these bracelets are perfect. They can be worn alone for a delicate look, or look great layered and stacked with a mismatch of friendship and threaded bracelets. They can also be personalised by creating individual letters, initials or words and given as gifts. I have tended to opt for geometric shapes, so squares, circles and triangles because I think they look so effective when joined together, but hearts and stars work well too, especially if you're after more of a girlie look.

You will need:
Wire (I used picture wire that I managed to find in our local hardware store)
Wire cutters
Jewellery pliers
Thread (im a big fan of a pastel shade so opted for mint, lilac and pale blue)

How to:
1. Cut the wire to size. This all depends on how large you'd like your shape to be. I opted for fairly small shapes and so cut the wire at roughly 1.5 inches.
2. Bend the wire into your desired shape. A handy tip is to draw the shape out onto paper first and lay the wire over it to guide you. This is especially useful when creating more intricate shapes such as letters. If you have more than one shape, join together, making sure the opening is closed.
3. Cut your thread to size. (Make sure it fits around your wrist, but the leave a little extra so that loops can be made at each end)
4. Tie loops in each end of the thread.
5. Almost done! Now all you need to do is loop one end of the thread around your shape, wrap around your wrist and then loop the other end onto the other side.
Easy Peasy!

Hope you like this DIY! Check out 'Henry Happened' for more DIY jewellery makes. They really are quite delightful!!

If you give these little bracelets a go we'd love to see how you get on! Tweet us a pic maybe? Or use the same technique to create something a little different, use larger shapes to create a statement necklace perhaps?

Lots of TWB Love,
